What I don’t understand is what has changed?? What has caused prices to jump ?

I think it is the influx of online selling/vintage culture having hit the mainstream. What is disheartening to me is… here is the opportunity for Goodwill as a company to bask in the glory of the times and reap their good fortune, but instead they capitalize which ultimately weighs on their customers.

Due to it being a more sustainable practice, more people will be shopping second hand than ever before and Goodwills have stores everywhere in the US. Naturally they will make more money than ever before because as you know, everything they sell is a profit margin. They spend $0 to stock their store.. so to triple their prices when they know they can just seem anything but “Goodwill”. This organization is supposed to be serving “the less fortunate members of the community” before anything else. Now in some stores a rain jacket can jump to $24.99 and t shirts are a standard $3.99. What has caused this, if not greed?
